Getting back after the event
After every event VTA runs extra light rail and buses for up to one hour after it ends. Leave through Gate A (VTA to Caltrain or BART, rideshare) or Gate F (VTA, Capitol Corridor, ACE). Light rail queues are on the Gate A side, facing Tasman Drive, and trains board at Great America. For Caltrain, ride the Orange Line to Mountain View: regular Orange Line trains toward Mountain View stop around 10:15 p.m., so after a night event you need the extra post-event trains. For BART, ride the Orange Line to Milpitas: the last regular train reaches Milpitas at 11:43 p.m. The last northbound Caltrain leaves Mountain View at 11:48 p.m. on weekdays and 11:49 p.m. on weekends. If you miss them, use rideshare from Red Lot 7.

| Light rail (extra post-event trains) | VTA runs extra light rail and bus return service for up to one hour after the event. Go straight to your return boarding area; light rail riders queue on the Gate A side of the stadium, facing Tasman Drive, and board at Great America. VTA ambassadors at Mountain View and Milpitas direct riders to Caltrain and BART. VTA posts each event's schedule at least five days before the event. For some concerts VTA closes Lick Mill and Old Ironsides stations for 60 minutes after the show so trains fill at Great America (Morgan Wallen 2025) or warns that they may close (Ed Sheeran and AC/DC 2026). [source] |
| Light rail (regular late trips) | Same times on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays in VTA's current timetable. VTA prints times at Old Ironsides, the stop next to Great America. Orange Line toward Mountain View (Caltrain): the last regular trip leaves Old Ironsides at 10:15 p.m. and reaches Mountain View at 10:40 p.m.; later westbound trains end at Baypointe and do not serve the stadium. Orange Line toward Milpitas (BART) and Alum Rock: the last trip leaves Old Ironsides at 11:19 p.m., reaches Milpitas at 11:43 p.m. and Alum Rock at 11:55 p.m. Green Line toward downtown San Jose: the last trip to Winchester leaves Old Ironsides at 11:13 p.m.; an 11:43 p.m. trip runs only as far as Convention Center (12:13 a.m.). [source] |
| BART (via Milpitas) | VTA's 2026 concert notices gave 11:54 p.m. as the last northbound BART train to Richmond from Milpitas (Saturday, July 25 and Wednesday, Aug. 5). BART runs its regular schedule; no extra post-event BART trains were announced. For the 2025 Morgan Wallen shows, VTA told BART riders to be in the Great America boarding queue by 11:00 p.m. Sunday last-train times were not confirmed; check BART for your date. [source] |
| Caltrain (via Mountain View) | Caltrain's current timetable lists the last northbound train from Mountain View to San Francisco at 11:48 p.m. on weekdays (train 173) and 11:49 p.m. on weekends (train 665). Caltrain's 2026 49ers game pages describe only the trip to the game; no post-game extra train is announced. For the Aug. 5, 2026 AC/DC concert, Caltrain planned one extra northbound train from Mountain View about 90 minutes after the show, or after the last VTA post-event train arrived, whichever was later. | ACE train | ACE special trains (49ers home games) leave Great America for Fremont, Pleasanton, Livermore, Vasco, Tracy, Lathrop and Stockton. Listed returns: 5:19 p.m. for the Nov. 8, Nov. 29 and Dec. 13, 2026 afternoon games and 9:24 p.m. for the Jan. 3, 2027 game (5:20 p.m. start). You need an ACE special train ticket. ACE did not run a train for the July 2026 Ed Sheeran concert and has no weekend service. [source] |
| Capitol Corridor | From Santa Clara - Great America station toward Oakland and Sacramento. For the 1:05 and 1:25 p.m. games on Nov. 8, Nov. 29 and Dec. 13, 2026, use regular train 744 at 5:05 p.m. For the Jan. 3, 2027 game (5:20 p.m.), special train 748 leaves at 9:40 p.m. For concerts Capitol Corridor runs a special late train (11:30 p.m. for the Oct. 10-11, 2026 Bruno Mars shows). It tells riders to allow at least 30 minutes to reach the station and says the train will not wait, even if the show runs long. [source] |

Driving and parking
Paid, cashless parking in stadium lots. Buy a pass in advance; credit-card lots on event day are limited. Several private lots nearby also sell event parking in person.
- Lots open 3.5 hours before the event or kickoff and close two hours after it ends.
- Each pass covers one space in the lot named on it. Parking is directed: staff send each car to the next open space, in every lot, including accessible parking.
- The parking FAQ says Red, Blue and Green Lot 1 are sold out for the season. Single-game passes can still appear; check the stadium app or parking link.
- Accessible parking is in Red Lot 1, entered only through the Red Lot 1 entrance. You need a valid DMV disabled placard or plate, plus a pass for any stadium lot or a game-day accessible pass bought at the Red Lot 1 entrance (subject to availability). First come, first served.
- Tailgating is allowed only at sporting events and only in designated areas: your lined space plus the area directly in front of or behind your vehicle. It ends at kickoff. No glass in any lot, no amplified sound, and no tents or canopies over 8' x 8'.
- Vehicle size: the parking FAQ limits passes to vehicles under 17 ft long and 8 ft wide; the tailgating rules say vehicles over 18 ft long or 8 ft wide cannot park in a lined space. Buses and RVs must buy parking in advance by phone or email.
- Private lots near the stadium sell game-day parking in person; the parking FAQ links a list and map.

- Allowed: clear backpacks, clear fanny packs, clear bags and purses, one-gallon clear plastic zip-top bags, a small clutch the size of an adult hand, and a seat cushion.
- The stadium's A-Z guide lists the clutch as 4.5" x 5", smaller than the bag policy page. Bring the smaller size to be safe.
- Bags may be inspected at entry and again inside the stadium. Non-compliant bags must go back to your car.
- Diaper bags with a child and inspected medical bags are allowed.
- Bag check: the A-Z guide lists a paid bag check by The Mobile Locker Co. (RV lot on the west side near the Hilton, and Tasman Dr near Marie P. DeBartolo Way at Gate F). VTA's Levi's page says the stadium does not offer bag check. Do not count on it.
