Getting back after the event
Walking is the simplest way back: the stadium is downtown, and many downtown hotels are linked to the convention center and the stadium by skywalks. Neither the Colts nor the stadium list any post-game bus service; regular IndyGo buses leave from the Carson Transit Center, and the Red Line runs until about 1 am Monday to Saturday but only until 10 pm on Sunday. Rideshare pickup is on northbound Illinois Street, and a postgame taxi lane is set up on Illinois Street south of South Street.

| Walk | Downtown hotels are within walking distance. Visit Indy says climate-controlled skywalks connect 4,700 hotel rooms to the convention center and Lucas Oil Stadium. Neither the Colts nor the stadium say whether the indoor connector is open to fans after a given game; ask your hotel. [source] |
| Bus | IndyGo Red Line from the Carson Transit Center (201 E. Washington St.), north to Broad Ripple or south to the University of Indianapolis. Service runs every 15 to 20 minutes until about 1 am Monday to Saturday, and until 10 pm on Sunday. After a Sunday night game there is no Red Line service. [source] |
| Bus | Other IndyGo routes also leave from the Carson Transit Center. The building is open until midnight Monday to Saturday and until 9 pm on Sunday. Last trips differ by route; check yours with IndyGo's trip planner or Track My Bus before the game. [source] |

Getting there
Public transit
There is no rail service. The stadium is downtown, so you can walk from downtown hotels, many of them linked by skywalks. IndyGo city buses, including the Red Line rapid bus, run through downtown. Neither the Colts nor the stadium list a game-day shuttle.
- Walk: the stadium is at 500 S. Capitol Ave., on the south side of downtown. Visit Indy says a network of climate-controlled skywalks connects 4,700 hotel rooms to the Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium and a four-story mall.
- Bus: the Colts' transportation page points to IndyGo's regular routes. IndyGo runs more than 30 fixed routes from its downtown hub, the Julia M. Carson Transit Center, 201 E. Washington St.
- Red Line rapid bus: 13 miles from Broad Ripple in the north, through downtown (stopping at the Carson Transit Center), to the University of Indianapolis in the south. Buses every 15 to 20 minutes. Hours: Monday to Friday 5 am to 1 am, Saturday 6 am to 1 am, Sunday 7 am to 10 pm.
- Purple Line rapid bus: east-west between downtown Indianapolis and the City of Lawrence, through Irvington.
- Construction in 2026: the Colts recommend arriving downtown at least three hours before kickoff. Capitol Ave. is closed to cars between Maryland St. and South St., and I-65 and I-70 work brings lane and ramp closures near downtown.
- Bikes and scooters: bike racks are outside the Colts Pro Shop on Capitol Ave. and on South St. by Gate 5. Park scooters at the Indiana Convention Center (Capitol Ave. and Georgia St.) or by the post office (Capitol Ave. and South St.), not on stadium grounds.

Driving and parking
The Colts and the stadium do not run parking. Lots and garages around the stadium are run by private operators; ParkWhiz is the Colts' parking partner for booking ahead. Downtown has about 70,000 parking spaces.
- Common game-day lots listed by the Colts: South Lot (601 S. Capitol Ave.), IFA Lot (650 S. West St.), Horseshoe Lot (345 W. McCarty St.), Rolls-Royce Garage (25 W. Henry St.), Rolls-Royce B Lot (E. Norwood St.), Government Center Garage (42 S. Missouri St.), Lot A (303 S. Missouri St.), Plaza Garage (109 S. Capitol Ave.) and LaRosa South (401 S. Pennsylvania St.).
- Denison Parking runs nearly 2,000 spaces in lots around the stadium, including bus and RV parking.
- Tailgating: the Colts' A-Z guide says lots around the stadium open five hours before kickoff and allow tailgating, but each lot operator sets its own rules. Don't block spaces or save them for late arrivals.
- Accessible parking is in each downtown lot and garage. ADA spaces in the South Lot and Lot A go to season ticket members.
- Accessible drop-off: the southwest corner pull-through off northbound Missouri St., and the northeast corner on Capitol Ave. by the Colts Pro Shop.

Rideshare (Uber, Lyft)

- After the game, walk out of the stadium toward Illinois Street before you request a ride. Requests are blocked inside the geofenced area around the stadium.
- Taxis: after the game a taxi lane is set up on the west side of Illinois Street, south of South Street. Taxis also wait near the large downtown hotels.
- The stadium's own drop-off points (Missouri St. and Capitol Ave.) may be closed for about an hour before and after the event because of foot traffic.

Bag policy
NFL clear-bag policy: one clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12", or a one-gallon clear freezer bag, plus a small clutch about the size of a hand.
- Fanny packs are not allowed. Diaper bags must follow the clear-bag rule; carry diapers in a clear bag.
- Bags with medical devices or supplies, including breast pumps, are exempt from the clear-bag rule but are searched at the gate.
- No outside food or drink. You may bring an empty plastic water bottle and fill it at water stations.
- There is no bag storage. Bags that are not allowed must go back to your car or hotel.
- The stadium is cashless. Cash-to-card kiosks are in Sections 105 and 129.

Where to stay
| Area | Why |
|---|---|
| Downtown, around the Indiana Convention Center | Skywalks link 4,700 hotel rooms to the convention center and Lucas Oil Stadium, so the walk back is short and partly indoors. |
| Downtown near the Carson Transit Center (Washington Street) | Walkable to the stadium, and close to the Carson Transit Center, the hub for IndyGo's 30-plus routes and the Red Line. |
| Broad Ripple or elsewhere on the Red Line | The Red Line runs from Broad Ripple through downtown until about 1 am Monday to Saturday. On Sundays it stops at 10 pm, so after a Sunday night game plan on a rideshare. |
