Getting back after the event
After a night game or concert, the main way out is the NJ Transit shuttle train from Meadowlands Station to Secaucus Junction. Change there for New York Penn Station, Newark or the rest of the NJ Transit network. After NFL games, trains leave at least every 15 minutes on a load-and-go basis until the crowd clears. For 2026 concerts, NJ Transit and the stadium said the last train would leave the Meadowlands no earlier than 1:00 am. Expect long lines on the platform. The 351 bus to Port Authority runs until about an hour after the event ends. Rideshare from Lot E can mean waits of two hours or more and surge pricing.
| Mode | What runs after events |
|---|---|
| Rail | NJ Transit shuttle trains run from Meadowlands Station to Secaucus Junction after the event, at least every 15 minutes on a load-and-go basis until the crowd clears, then as needed. You need a wristband to board. At Secaucus, change to any NJ Transit train toward New York Penn Station or your home line. There is no direct train from the stadium to Penn Station. If you came another way and need a train back, buy the ticket in the NJ Transit app, or electronically (no cash) from an NJ Transit agent outside the stadium; the agent's ticket covers only Meadowlands to Secaucus, so you need a second ticket from Secaucus onward. A few of the last trains back run direct to Hoboken. [source] |
| Rail | Concerts (2026 example, BTS, August 1-2): after the show, trains were scheduled every 10 minutes from 10:30 pm, with the last train leaving the Meadowlands no earlier than 1:00 am; NJ Transit said times could change with crowd size. The stadium's Bruno Mars guide (August 2026) also says the last train to Secaucus Junction leaves no earlier than 1:00 am, and that fans taking the train only after the show could buy return wristbands outside the AMEX Gate. | Bus | Coach USA 351 Meadowlands Express to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Board next to Parking Lot K, near the MetLife Gate. Coach USA says the last bus leaves one hour after the event ends; the stadium says the 351 runs for about an hour after the game. Return tickets can be bought at the stadium in cash only, exact fare, or online in advance (online ticket holders board first). [source] |
| Rideshare | Pickup in Lot E, off West Peripheral Road, just outside the Verizon Gate. After events, expect surge pricing; the stadium says waits can exceed two hours with large crowds. It suggests mass transit instead, especially if you are going back to New York City. [source] |

Getting there
Public transit
On event days NJ Transit runs shuttle trains on the Meadowlands Rail Line between Secaucus Junction and Meadowlands Station, next to the stadium. Coach USA's 351 Meadowlands Express bus runs from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.
- Rail: take any NJ Transit train that stops at Secaucus Junction (from New York Penn Station or elsewhere), then transfer to a Meadowlands-bound train. No train runs directly from Penn Station to the stadium.
- The Secaucus Junction to Meadowlands Station ride takes about 10 minutes. To reach the train from inside the stadium, exit through the MetLife or Verizon Gates.
- NJ Transit runs Meadowlands rail service for events expected to draw more than 50,000 people, including every Giants and Jets home game. Game-day timetables are posted at njtransit.com/nfl closer to each game.
- From Hoboken: limited direct trains run to the stadium before weekend NFL games and college football games. At other times, change at Secaucus.
- In 2026 the line is sponsored as the DoorDash Meadowlands Rail Line. Buy a round-trip ticket for your event in the NJ Transit app (choose the game or event and date), at a ticket machine or at a ticket office.
- Wristbands: show your Meadowlands Rail Line ticket at the designated area in Secaucus Junction to get a wristband. The wristband is your return ticket. Only passengers wearing one may board at Secaucus Junction or Meadowlands Station.
- Bus: Coach USA's 351 Meadowlands Express runs from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to the sports complex for NFL games and other large events, and some events also have a pickup at the George Washington Bridge bus station (Rockland Coaches, Gate 4). Dates and boarding gates are announced per event on the Coach USA site. The ride takes about 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Driving and parking
On NFL game days every vehicle entering the sports complex needs a parking permit bought in advance. For other events, parking is first-come, first-served and you pay on site.
- NFL games: permits come in two tiers. Platinum covers Lots E, F and G. Gold covers Lots B, D, J, K, L, M, P, Deck A and the lots near American Dream. One permit covers one space. Lost or stolen permits are not replaced.
- NFL games without a permit: the stadium points to a paid off-site lot at 20 Murray Hill Parkway, East Rutherford (cash or card, shuttle to Lot G), or the Edison Park Fast lot at Secaucus Junction plus the rail shuttle.
- Non-NFL events: prepay through ParkWhiz or pay on arrival. The Bruno Mars guide (August 2026) says cash and credit cards are accepted at the entry plazas. Lots usually open 5 hours before the event and close 2 hours after it ends; check the event's Know Before You Go guide.
- Tailgating is allowed in all sports complex lots unless a lot is marked otherwise. One car, one space: stay within your lined space and the area directly in front of or behind your vehicle.
- Grills are allowed at a safe distance from the vehicle but not in the parking decks. No open fires or deep fryers. Sound systems must stay under 65 decibels. Blocking drive lanes can get your car towed. Drones are not allowed on the sports complex.

Rideshare (Uber, Lyft)
The rideshare pickup zone is in Lot E, off West Peripheral Road, just outside the Verizon Gate. Drop-off is on the roadway between Lots D and E.
- When you request a ride, the pickup pin defaults to the zone. Walk to Lot E and wait for your driver to call or text you with the row they are parked in.
- Taxis, limousines and private drivers drop off and pick up at the curb on the roadway between Lots D and E.
- After events, expect surge pricing. The stadium says waits can exceed two hours with large crowds and suggests public transit instead.

Bag policy
NFL clear-bag policy: one clear bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" (or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag), plus one small clutch no larger than 4.5" x 6.5".
- Not allowed: any non-clear bag larger than the clutch size, including purses and handbags, camera or binocular cases, backpacks, fanny packs, diaper bags and briefcases or computer bags.
- Food is allowed in a clear plastic bag.
- Bag check is outside each open gate. It is free for NFL games and paid for other events.
- The stadium says the carry-in policy can change by event. Check the event's Know Before You Go guide.
